I just stand on stage with the MIC in my hand 난 그냥 마이크를 들고 무대 위에 서 8 years ago, no friend of mine 8년 전, 주변엔 아무 친구도 was around to talk, so I'd sit and write rhymes 없었지, 그래서 앉아서 라임을 썼어 I can't say, hiphop is all bad cause it isn't 힙합이 나쁘다곤 못 말해, 진짜로 아니니까 sometimes it makes me mad and I eject it from my system 가끔은 날 화나게 해서 몸 밖으로 던져버리지만 this is an art-form, a form of expression 이건 예술, 표현의 한 형태 communication, something that youth relate with 의사소통, 젊은이들이 공감하는 것 gang related or peace statements, it's all up to the artist 갱단과 관련이 있건 평화 선언이건, 그건 아티스트에 달려있어 we got, freedom of speech and each aims for a different target 우리에겐, 발언의 자유가 있고 모두 다른 목표를 노려 different markets, different agendas, different intentions 다른 시장, 다른 정책, 다른 의도를 가지고 있어 some are pure, some are offensive 어떤 이들은 순수하고, 어떤 이들은 공격적이야 I'm just, one of many different sides represented 난 그냥, 그 수많은 면 중 하나가 나타난 것 or should I mention, each individual is their own extension 혹은, 개개인이 그들의 확장 영역으로 speaking their perspective, so in this game I hold my own 그들의 관점을 얘기한다고 해야할까, 그래서 이 씬에서 난 내 몫을 쥐어 ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my home 신사 숙녀 여러분, 내 집에 온 걸 환영해 Hiphop started in the Bronx, come on 힙합은 Bronx에서 시작했지, 이리 와 now it lives all over the world 이젠 세상 여기저기에서 살고 있지 people of all types embrace the culture, bang the music 모든 종류의 사람들이 이 문화를 받아들이고, 음악을 틀어 get into it, start a movement, keep doing it 그 속으로 빠져, 움직임을 일으켜, 계속 해나가 when you write your first rhyme don't expect to be 처음으로 라임을 쓸 땐, 최고의 MC라고 considered the best mc, develop your flavor and recipe 인정받을 기대하지마, 네 개성과 비법을 만들어 if you wanna see success it takes a lot of sacrifice and effort 성공을 보고 싶다면, 희생과 노력이 많이 필요할거야 just because you got a flow doesn't get you cheddar 플로우가 생겼다고 cheddar (돈)을 버는 건 아냐 call it cash money, I hate slang and stereo types cash money라고 불러라, 난 속어나 편견을 싫어해 for all mediums I give the same advice 모든 2류들에게 난 똑같은 조언을 해 no matter what you strive for, no matter what goals you got 무엇을 위해 노력하건, 무슨 목표를 가지고 있건 there's no short cut to the golden pot, the plot thickens 그곳으로 가는 지름길은 없어, 계획은 짙어져 I spit out lyrics like their lukewarm but keep it hot 난 미지근한 척 가사들을 내뱉지만 항상 뜨겁지 plant seeds to feed the flock when the beat knocks 비트가 쿵쾅댈 때, 새떼를 먹이기 위해 씨앗을 심어 stay focused on God, bless tracks with passion 항상 신에게 집중하고, 열정으로 트랙에 축복을 내려 I'll be loving hiphop till my flesh turns to ashes 내 살이 재가 될 때까지 힙합을 사랑하겠어 I got a love/hate relationship with hiphop, it frustrates me 나는 힙합과 애증의 관계, 나를 짜증나게 해 it can break these rusty chains or drive me crazy 이 녹슨 사슬을 부러뜨릴 수도, 날 미치게 할 수도 있어 I'm a rhyme spitting, time bomb ticking 나는 라임을 뱉는, 시한폭탄이 째깍대는 놈 Christ is living, and died, to save me from this worlds sickness 그리스도는 살아계시고, 죽었어, 나를 병든 세상에서 구원하시려고 when people think of rap music they relate it to players, pimps 사람들이 랩 음악을 생각할 때, 그들은 기도와 이걸 연결시켜, 포주들 paper chasers and gang bangers, but don't forget 돈버는 놈들과 갱스터들, 하지만 잊지마 just cause you see them scenes in videos 비디오에서 그런 장면들을 봤다고 해서 doesn't mean, that for every mc, that's how it really goes 모든 MC들이, 그렇게 산다는 의미는 아니야 the truth is, hiphop is diverse as earth is 사실, 힙합은 지구만큼이나 다양해 what a man speaks reflects the world he's immersed in 한 사람이 말하는 건 그가 들어있는 세상을 반영하지 and the condition of his heart, yo it's hard to judge it 그리고 그의 마음 상태까지, yo 평가하기 어려워 most these rappers would be nothing, without their budget 래퍼들 대부분은 돈과 프로모션 값을 대주는 and record labels, paying for promotions 레코드 레이블이 없으면, 아무것도 아냐 putting their face on posters, while they posing 포즈를 잡고 자기 얼굴을 포스터에 올려 but see, hiphop music gave a voice to the streets 하지만 봐봐, 힙합 음악은 거리에 목소리를 줬어 plus it made profit, so now everybody wants a piece 게다가 이익도 얻었어, 이젠 모두들 한 조각 씩 원해 I wasn't down from the beginning but since I started 시작부터 함께 하진 않았지만, 나도 출발했으니 I've been true to God, myself and true to the art 하느님, 내 자신, 그리고 예술에 진실한 태도로 all I got left to say for everybody east to west 동부에서 서부까지의 모두에게 이제 남은 할 말은 represent hiphop right if you want it to get respect 존경받고 싶으면 힙합을 제대로 대표하라는 것 |
