Verse one: krs-one Well now you’re forced to listen to the teacher and the lesson 자 넌 강제로 선생이 들려주는 수업을 듣게돼 Class is in session so you can stop guessin 수업이 시작됐으니 딴 생각은 말아 If this is a tape or a written down memo 이게 테입이나 가사를 적은 메모라 해도 See I am a professional, this is not a demo 보다시피 난 프로페셔널, 이건 데모가 아니야 In fact call it a lecture, a visual picture 그래 연설이라고 하는게 더 낫겠군, 시각적으로 보여주지 Sort of a poetic and rhythm-like mixture 약간은 시와 리듬을 섞은 것 Listen, I’m not dissin but there’s somethin that you’re missin 들어봐, 욕하려는 건 아니지만 넌 뭔가 없는게 있어 Maybe you should touch reality, stop wishin 어쩌면 현실을 건드려야할지도 모르지, 베이스 가득한 For beats with plenty bass and lyrics said in haste 비트와 급하게 뱉어낸 가사는 그만 바라라는 거 If this meaning doesn’t manifest put it to rest 만약 의미가 드러나지 않는다면 그냥 치워둬 I am a poet, you try to show it, yet blow it 나는 시인, 넌 잘난 척하려 하지만, 늘 실패해 It takes concentration for fresh communication 새로운 대화를 위해선 심사숙고가 필요해 Observation, that is to see without speaking 관찰, 그것은 말 없이 지켜보는 것을 의미해 Take off your coat, take notes, I am teachin 코트를 벗어, 메모를 해, 난 반을 가르치고 A class, or rather school, cause you need schooling 있어, 아니 학교라 해야할까, 넌 학교가 필요하거든 I am not a king or queen, I’m not ruling 난 왕이나 여왕은 아니야, 독재는 안 해 This is an introduction to poetry 이것은 시에 대한 소개문 A small dedication to those that might know of me 날 알지도 모르는 이들에게 보내는 약간의 헌정작품 They might know of you and maybe your gang 사람들은 너랑 니 갱 정도는 알지도 모르지 But one thing’s for sure, neither one of y’all can hang 하지만 한 가지는 확실해, 너네들은 서로 못 어울린다는 거 Cause yo I’m like a arrow, and scott is the crossbow 왜냐면 yo 난 화살과 같고, Scott은 석궁과 같거든 Say something now ... thought so 뭐 하나 말해봐라... 그럴 줄 알았지 You seem to be the type that only understand 너는 옆에 있는 사람을 없애고 The annihilation and destruction of the next man 부수는 것만 알고 있는 타입인듯 해 That’s not poetry, that is insanity 그건 시가 아니야, 그건 미친 짓이지 It’s simply fantasy far from reality 단순히 현실과 멀리 떨어진 환상이지 Poetry is the language of imagination 시는 상상의 언어 Poetry is a form of positive creation 시는 긍정적인 창조의 형태 Difficult, isn’t it? the point? you’re missin it 어렵네, 그치? 요점? 넌 놓치고 있어 Your face is in front of my hand so I’m dissin it 니 얼굴이 내 손 앞에 있으니 난 욕을 할 수 밖에 Verse two: krs-one Scott larock is innovating, decorating hip-hop Scott LaRock은 개혁 중, 힙합을 장식하지 The beat may drop but not like all the others 비트가 나올 수 있겠지만 다른 것들과는 달라 They just cover while I just smother 그들이 그냥 커버하는 동안 난 바보 자식들의 Every single stupid mutha -- wait wait brotha 목을 모조리 졸라 -- 잠깐 잠깐 친구 Krs-one will have to show another KRS-ONE이 또다른 MC 혹은 Mc or self-proclaimed king or queen 자칭 왕, 왕비들 혹은 갱이든 Or gang or crew or solo or team 크루든 솔로든 팀이든 보여줘야겠군 That I mean, Business 내가 하고픈 말을, 비즈니스 So tell me what is this? 그래 이게 뭐지? See I come from the bronx so just kiss this 보다시피 난 Bronx 출신, 그러니 키스하게 Boogie down productions is somewhat an experiment Boogie Down Productions는 어찌 보면 실험 The antidote for sucka mc’s and they’re fearin it 바보 MC들의 해독제, 그들은 두려워하지 It’s self-explanatory, no one’s writin for me 딱 보면 자명해, 아무도 내 가사를 써주지 않는다는 것 The poetry I’m rattlin is really not for battlin 내가 쨍그렁거리는 시는 싸우고자 만든게 아니야 But if you want I will simply change the program 하지만 정말 원한다면 간단하게 프로그램을 바꿀게 So when I’m done you will simply say "damn" 그러니 다 끝나면 너네들은 "젠장"이라고 하겠지 So this conversation is somewhat hypothetical 그러니 이 대화는 어찌 보면 가설적이야 Boogie down productions attempts to prove somethin Boogie Down Productions는 무언가를 증명하려고 시도하지 I say hypothetical because it’s only theory 가설적이라는 건 아직 이론일 뿐이기 때문 My theory, so take a minute now to hear me 내 이론이지, 그러니 잠시만 내 말을 들어봐 Verse three: krs-one So what’s your problem? 그래 니 문제는 뭐지? It seems you want to be krs-two 아무래도 넌 KRS-Two가 되고파 하는군 From my point of view, backtrack, stop the attack 내가 볼 때, 돌아가, 공격을 멈춰 Cos krs-one means simply one krs KRS-ONE이라는 건 KRS가 하나 뿐이라는 거니까 That’s it, that’s all, solo, single, no more, no less 그런거지, 그게 다야, 솔로, 싱글, 그 이상 그 이하도 아니지 I’ve built up my credential financially and mental 재정적으로도 정신적으로도 난 신용을 쌓았지 Anytime I rhyme I request the instrumental 라임을 할 때마다 난 반주를 요청해 I speak clearly and that’s merely 정확하게 말하고 그건 단지 Or should I say a mere, help to my career 아니 그러니까 오직, 내 경력에 도움이 될 뿐 I’m really not into fashion or craze 패션이나 유행에는 그다지 관심 없어 Just the one who pays and how soon I get a raise 단지 누가 돈을 내고 언제 받는 돈이 늘어나는지에 대한 것 뿐 You’re probably in a daze, acting out of sympathy 넌 어쩌면 혼란스럽겠지, 동정으로 인한 행동 Wrote a couple of rhymes and think that you can get with me 두 세개의 라임을 생각해내곤 나랑 붙을 수 있다 생각하나 But what a pity, I’m rockin new york city 하지만 불쌍하게도, 난 뉴욕, 그리고 그 외의 And everywhere else, you put the jams on the shelf 모든 곳을 흔들어, 니 음악은 선반에 올려놔 You as an amateur is outspoken 너란 아마추어는 참 솔직하지 I’m looking at your face, you seem to be hopin 난 니 얼굴을 바라봐, 넌 내가 말을 더듬기를 That I might stutter, stop, or just mess up 바라는 거 같군, 멈추고, 망치기를 But everything’s live that’s why I don’t dress up 하지만 모든 것이 라이브로 가, 그래서 난 옷을 꾸미지 않아 "blastmaster krs" a synonym for "fresh" "Blastmaster KRS"는 "신선함"과 동의어 I’m the teacher of the class, I do not pass no test 나는 이 반의 선생, 시험을 통과시키지 않아 Got dj scott larock by my side, not in back of me DJ Scott LaRock은 내 옆, 내 뒤가 아니지 Cos we make up the boogie down productions crew faculty 우린 Boogie Down Productions 크루 교수단의 멤버니까 Get it right, or train yourself not to bite 제대로 들어봐, 아니면 베끼지 않게 연습을 하던가 Cos when you bite you have bitten, when I hear it, that’s it 왜냐면 베끼는(bite)즉시 넌 깨물리거든(bite), 내가 듣자마자, 끝장 I do not contemplate a battle cause it really ain’t worth it 난 배틀을 심각하게 고려하진 않아, 별로 그럴 가치가 없으니까 I’d rather point a pistol at your head and try to burst it 차라리 니 머리에 권총을 겨누고 쏴버리려고 하는게 낫지 I’m teaching poetry 난 시를 가르치고 있어 I’m teaching poetry 난 시를 가르치고 있어 Scott larock We’re teaching po-e-try 우린 시를 가르치고 있어 |
