안녕하세요, University of Notre Dame 학부생 Class of 2011 이인재 입니다.

2009년도 학부생을 중심으로 한 한국에서 있을 정기모임을 제가 주최하게 되었는데요.  대학원생 선배님들도 함께 할 수 있었으면

하는 바람으로 이 공지를 감히 올립니다.

높아지는 학교 명성에 따라 한국학생들이 많이 늘어난 것 같아요.

이 많은 학생들을 고기집에서 만나는것도 사실 힘들어졌구요.  이제 노틀담 또한 다른 유수한 대학들처럼 큰 모임을 만들어야 할 때가

된 것 같습니다.  소규모의 모임이 아닌, 전통적으로 이어 내려갈 공적 모임을 주최하는 것이기 때문에, 

우리 모두가 책임감과 의무감를 가지고 참여 할 수 있었으면 합니다.  

신입생 입장으로써는 선배들과의 만남으로 학교에 대한 분위기를 알 수 있고, 

졸업생 입장으로써는 신입 및 재학생들에게 노틀담에서의 생활, 또는 학업이나 Alumni로써 사회경험을 얘기해주실수 있는 

뜻깊은 자리가 될 수 있을 것 같습니다. 

물론, 새로운 전통을 만들어 갈 때에는 시행착오로써 어떤 진통이 있기 마련입니다. 

모두가 힘을 모아서 노틀담 학생으로써 이 자리를 

빛낼 수 있었으면 하는 바람입니다.

Greetings!

My name is In Jae (Aiden) Lee and I am Undergraduate rising junior at the University of Notre Dame. I am currently organizing the 2009 Notre Dame meet in Korea. As the prestige of Notre Dame continues to increase, it seems the number of Korean students attending our university is increasing as well. 

Since the number of Alumni, current students, and incoming students has increased to quite a large number, it has become difficult to arrange a huge gathering at a restaurant or some other common meeting place. Just as other universities have been doing for some time, it seems now is the time for Notre Dame to also organize a meeting fit for our size and status of prestige. 

Because this isn’t a small scale gathering but rather a more formal one for all alumni, current students, and soon-to-be students of Notre Dame, I ask that each and every one of you try your best to come and show your Irish pride—embracing your sense of duty and responsibility that comes with being part of this family. 

From the position of the incoming students (our new freshmen), this can be their first chance to meet with the upperclassman and from the position of Alumni, this can be an opportunity for you to share advice and stories of Notre Dame and the life after graduation to the underclassmen. More than just a fun gathering, I believe this will be meaningful as well. 

I hope we can all meet together and make this a very successful gathering that is memorable. 

Date: June 19, 2009 (Friday)

Time: 7 PM to 10 PM (Things will run smoothly if you arrive by 7. Please be on time.)

Fee: 50,000 won
