같이 축구를 하는 동료를 사랑(?)하게 된 남자 아이가 마음의 갈등을 겪다가 결국 용기를 내어 그 남자아이의 땀을 혀로 핥아 준다는 내용이다. 키스해 주는 게 아니라, 혀로 얼굴을 핥는다. 참... 써 놓고 보니 굉장히 에로틱하다.
약간의 판타지와 약간의 고민 그리고 욕망의 표출과 성장통(?)을 그린 단편영화.
10분 여 남짓되는 퀴어단편 영화로 동네서 공 좀 차는 두 소년, 맷과 스티븐(이라 추정됨)은 사실 별로 친하지도 않고 구냥 같은 축구팀. 그리고 어느 순간부터 맷은 스티븐에게 연정을 품기 시작했다. 한쪽에서 사랑이 꽃피우기 시작했다고 영화는 달달해 지지 않는다. 전반적으로 주인공인 맷의 자기발견(?)에 중점을 두고 아주 깔끔간결, 군더더기 없이 마무리 된다.
감독의 코멘터리를 보면 진부한 성장영화를 틀을 그대로 쫓아 만들기 보다는, Joe Orton의 나래이션을 통해 젊은이가 스스로의 모습을 발견하는 이야기를 하고싶었다고 함. Joe는 영국의 뭐 게이 극작가였다고 하는데(솨실 난 뭐가 뭔지 잘 모르게뜸), 이 영화 속에서 맷은 그의 작품세계에 빠져있는 청년으로 묘사된다. 출판되어 있는 Joe의 일기의 부분의 직접 사용하지 않고, 새로 만들어서 썼다고 하는데 암튼 이 영화 내내 계속 Joe Orton으로 대변되는 목소리의 나래이션이 깔린다...
