I was able to follow Se Ri for both days Friday and Saturday.
On her golf I would say she has played the same excellent golf tee to green throughout both rounds (11 holes Friday and 22 holes Saturday). Even though the stats may show less fairways on todays round her driving both days has been perfect. Except for two drives - the 11th on round 2 when she pulled it left but had a clean lie and shot to the green, and pulled it left on 18 Saturday morning but hit an amazing 2nd shot and birdied the hole, any fairway misses have been in the 1st cut or a few feet into the rough. Her driving has been so flawless it's scarey.
Her approach shots have been almost perfect as well. The pin placements these days are often 5 feet from the fringe so often she will be 2 inches to 5 feet off the green but that would count as a missed green in regulation. For example, on the 2nd hole in round 3, a short par 3 from an elevated tee (and with so much water yesterday it was like an island green) she pulled it left but chiped it in.
Watching Se Ri, Annika and Paula play together was one of the most enjoyable rounds I've ever watched. Annika has always been a favorite and I have disliked Paula more because of Colin than anything. The efficiency, course management and talent of Se Ri and Annika is something to behold. Both are pretty focused inside the ropes but when they chatted with each other on the course both had big smiles on their faces and you can tell there's a real respect for each other if not a genuine friendship.
Paula is like a student out there watching their every move and I must say that my respect for her has gone up a lot. She has game inspite of her unusual swing. Those 3 are so efficient in their play. They waste no time on the greens and do all their work before it's their turn to putt. On round 2 Paula shots a 67 while Annika and Se Ri shot a 68 and not a single bogey among the 3. It was a round of 3 gifted golfers that I will never forget. The course management of Se Ri and Annika is amazing. Paula will learn but often took unnecessary risks IMO with driver when Se Ri and Annika would hit 3 wood.
Se Ri can win this - duh - stupid statement. With 3 holes to play in round 3 including 2 par 5's she could very well be in the last group. But with a dozen or more players playing so well it will be the hot putter Sunday that makes a difference. BTW, 17 and 18, par 5's are not reachable in 2. 17 because it's too long unless wind at your back and 18 because the drive off the tee is a layup due to a big gully about 250 yards out.
Final thoughts, I'll admit I before I arrived I wasn't totally concinved she was 100% back. After watching her play 33 holes there is no doubt in my mind that she is not only back but better than I've ever seen her. And she seems so happy. |

또 세 선수가 이틀동안 서로 대화도 나누며

| imalmighty | 생각해보니 2라운드때 세리 폴라 애니카 모두 무보기였네요 (물론 두명은 1-2라운드 무보기, 세리는 보기2 더블보기1)... 갤러리들 좋았겠다... 이런경우도 드물지 않나요? ^^ |
