Pak qualifies for ADT Championship
Se Ri Pak and Karrie Webb ended the McDonalds LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola in a playoff, and now they are the only two players who have qualified for the ADT Championship via the LPGA Playoffs 2006, the first-ever playoff system in golf.
Webb gained entry with her win at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill—the first two automatic qualification events on the LPGA Tour schedule—meaning she was the only player to earn a spot in the ADT Championship prior to the McDonalds LPGA Championship.
For a while, it looked like Webb was going to win the McDonalds LPGA Championship as well and remain the only player qualified, but Pak was having other thoughts.
Pak knocked out Webb with a tap-in birdie on the first playoff hole at the McDonalds LPGA Championship to earn her fifth-career major and punch her ticket for the ADT Championship, which will feature 32 LPGA stars playing for a record $1 million first-place paycheck at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla., Nov. 16-19.
